The WNBB Big Band (a.k.a. “The Wednesday Night Big Band”) is a jazz oriented 17-piece ensemble performing music from jazz standards and the classic big bands to originals and arrangements by today’s writers. Led by veteran music educator, Brian Thorlacius, and including some of Calgary’s finest musicians, the band has been active in the city since 1982. As well as the ensemble, our music spotlights individual band members and it is always a pleasure to feature guest artists when we can.
And the name? It’s the night we rehearse - we’re creative that way.
